Stress testing the iPod Nano

Monday, October 10th, 2005

Ever wondered how much damage the iPod nano could take before it cracked??? Yeah me neither… most of us, some what sane people who spend the money to pick up any type of iPod device don’t purposely destroy it, but if you’re curious about it here’s an article that you might find interesting. NANO Destruction

A kumite of zeros and ones

Not since Jean-Claude Van Damme portrayed Frank Dux in Blood Sport has there been this type of epic battle. (Can you feel the sarcasm here folks)…. Could this be end of a not so beautiful relationship?…. Cogent vs. Level 3…. Hajime

Three words that make me scream

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

There are three little words (well not so little) that make music fiends like myself scream at the top of our lungs, they are Digital Rights Management. Well it seems like some artists are starting to fight back against DRM by telling fans how to get around it. All I can say is bout time.

Where no man has gone or wanted to go for thirty years

Nasa has revealed a plan to go back to the moon using an Apollo-like capsule with modified rockets. My question is not why, but why with such a lame sounding plan. I thought we would be able to catch an ion-powered taxi to the moon by now. I have the feeling that private space flight and entrepreneurship will fund the exponential leap mankind will need for space travel and exploration to catch up to the likes of Rodenberry’s vision.

Flash Video Rocks

Monday, September 19th, 2005

At the firm we have been tinkering around with Flash video for nearly a year. With each project we see more and more stuff to do with it and get better at it. The ability to encode small video files into a very smooth flv that delivers nicely and playerless to the browser provides and endless amount of opportunites. Gone are the days of bulky players and choppy video. Hello to the days of broadband, video on demand and even video blogs.

Psst. Macromedia now has demo versions of Studio 8, including Flash 8 and Dreamweaver 8. After 1 days use of Dreamweaver 8 - I like what I see, but on the first look, doesn’t look like much has changed. Definitely like the focused attention to CSS and uploading behind the scenes but hope to discover more in the days to come.
