No not about Andy Kaufman but could this be the end of the world as we know it? Hmmmmm….. cause I feel fine… but a man in Tennessee feels that the signs he’s received point to devastation in 5 major cities and our very own ATL is one of them. You can read the whole story over here. This guy was interviewed on a radio station this morning, and my oh my it was interesting to say the least, The first thing I noticed was that he kept having to reiterate that he was sane… (J rule # 11 if a person you are talking to has to keep stating “hey I’m sane”, they’re not but humor them anyway)… He also contradicted himself from the get go, by saying “I don’t believe in coincidences anymore” but he would say “god showed me this in a coincidental way”…. yeah ummmm ok guy…

Alright, if this story is 100% accurate it’ll be just scary. I’m sure there will be a follow up disclaiming the accuracy of the statements that were made because this is all alleged. I wonder what the translation for the word Predestinate is in arabic?

This is a very interesting article I found on Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” Law (AKA Shoot First Law) which goes into effect tomorrow…. You can read more about it here . I can see how the thought that the states crime rate would drop if the law was passed, but come on there’s got to be a better way.

Correction: Major Hurricane in the Gulf on Wednesday

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

Rita - already at 140MPH winds - just 16 miles shy of Category 5, and 5 miles shy of where Katrina was when she made land fall. What’s an area of concern (and there are many of course) is the tight compact eye we are seeing with this storm. It could be a more compact storm potentially with more power near the eye than Katrina…

New New Orleans

Monday, September 19th, 2005

In the mist of work I had the thought today of how my last vacation was great and that I would love to go again. I went with three great friends to New Orleans. I had never been and found the city had its’ own true charm. If not the crowds in the streets enjoying a good drink or two, the spirit of jazz or the history of the D-day museum would find anyone and speak to their soul. For a moment today, when I thought of going again, I had forgotten about the hurricane and floods and once remember thought I would never be able to go again. However, among the “whys” and blames and second guessing of the response, I find pride for us as the human race in our history of pulling together and persisting through diversity, catastrophe, mistakes and lets face it, hell and high water, to rebuild and perhaps make better a place of New Orleans. Perhaps we will not only do so for a historic reason, which is overwhelming, but perhaps for compassion and humanity of those who love it and either would not or could not leave.

Why?

Why in the aftermath of a catastrophe does this happen? ADL I shudder every time I read this article.
